Primary Strategies for 1:1 Instruction

Targeted Instruction
  • Allocate different amounts of time per small group - Strategically determine how long each small group should be based on the targeted needs of the students in the small group. (Example)
  • Small Group Instruction - Reserve 15/20/30 minutes each day for small group instruction with 1/2/3 groups of students (no more than 7 per group) to reteach, generate inquiry questions, or extend learning on particular topics. (Example #1; Example #2)
  • Use Digital Content to Support SG Instruction - Align resources from digital content providers/tools to support small group instruction. (Example)
