I’m a middle school ELA and science teacher who has been in Alaska since 2012. I have taught in the Yukon Flats and downtown Anchorage, but have spent the majority of my time in Seward. My wife and I have three children, two dogs and a cat. I try to spend as much time as possible hunting, fishing, playing outdoors or reading a classic.
PL Strategy to share:
The past year I have focused on flexible content and tools. The hardships of an uncertain year made it immediately clear that every student would be coming to me with different academic needs. I spent a large amount of time informing and educating students on new technological tools and provided alternate resources in analog form when necessary. This year, I would really like to further my development of student ownership and responsibility.
Current Driving Question:
How can we meet the technological and social needs of our underprivileged students through PL?
