Beth Terry

Bio:
My name is Beth Terry and I have been teaching for 16 years. I am a graduate of The University of Tennessee and Arkansas State University. I have a B.S in Education and a M. Ed. Leadership/Administration. I have been married for 25 years to my husband, Andy. We have three children, two of which live here in Soldotna with us. My husband and I pastor the Soldotna Church of God. When we are not at school or church, we love hiking, biking, and enjoying all the adventures Alaska has to offer.

PL Strategy to share:
I have learned that it is critical to use RTI/data as a systematic way of measuring progress and providing more support to kids who need it in the classroom.

Current Driving Question:
As a teacher I am most concerned about the children not reading at grade-level. Would KPBSD entertain the idea of investing in an adaptive literacy program that develops the fluency, comprehension, and motivation students need to be successful readers such as Reading Plus?
