I graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon with a B.A. in English, a B.A. in Creative Writing, and a secondary teaching certification. I've been teaching for eleven years; three were spent in rural Oregon, and the rest have been at Kenai Central High School. In that time I've taught English 9, 10, and 11, Drama, French, and AP World History. I'm also the staff advisor for Shakespeare Club, the Creative Writing Club, and French Club, and have helped with the school's theatre and musical productions. Within our district, I am a team member on several committees and also attend conferences and presentations. Outside of school, I like to spend most of my time reading, writing, cooking, and watching films with my husband. At heart, I am a huge nerd and I love geeking out over anything from the newest season of Attack on Titan to the Royal Shakespeare Company's new production of the Henriad. I'm also a multi-published author and hope my experiences with the publishing process can be beneficial to students who are interested in pursuing their own writing careers.
