Bio:
My son, husband and I moved to Homer, Alaska over a year ago. This is my second year teaching intermediate grades at Razdolna, a village east of Homer. Currently, I am teaching fourth, fifth and sixth grade. Before moving to Homer, I lived in Colorado and taught fourth grade for six years. I love fourth grade, but am also enjoying fifth and sixth. The biggest challenge for me this year is differentiating to meet the needs of such a diverse set of learners. I love skiing and have enjoyed the plethora of cross country trails in the Homer area. As a family, we love to hike and be in nature.

PL Strategy to Share:
Last year I focused on student goal setting using data in reading and math. Also, we focused on reflecting on our goals either creating new ones or modifying our plans for meeting our goals. This year, I am focusing on giving students choice on how they want to demonstrate mastery of a standard, but still having a structure.
