Alana Greear is the K-5 Teacher in the idyllic village of Kachemak Selo which is on the shore of Kachemak Bay. She has a BA in Sociology from California State University, Chico and a Masters in Teaching from University of Alaska South East where she received the honor of being recognized as the Outstanding Graduate. Alana didn't do any of that until she was finished vagabonding around the planet and partially raising her exceptional family.
PL Strategy to share:
Because I feel that students are experiencing "pandemic insignificance" in their lives and that often students are not being recognized as having value, my classroom has moved past the practice of tracking data (although we do) and now focuses on making sure that each student is valued and made to understand that they matter not only to me and to the school, but to their community, their church, and to the world at large.
